BOYS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: 2-21-09

HESPERIA CHRISTIAN 76, NEWBERRY PARK ADVENTIST 35: At Hesperia, Josh Ford hit four 3-pointers en route to a game-high 23 points and helped the Patriots advance to the third round of the CIF-SS Division VI-AA playoffs.

Ford added three assists and three steals for HCS (21-5).  Jordan Vargas finished with 19 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and four steals.

The Patriots, who will travel to Santa Barbara on Tuesday to face Laguna Blanca, advanced to the quarterfinals for the first time in three years.

“We had one of our best performances, and we’re definitely peaking at the right time,” Hesperia Christian coach Scott Dobyns said.
