Scott heads All-DSL team

Silverado senior point guard Kintin Scott was named the Desert Sky League boys basketball player of the year as the All-DSL team was released on Wednesday.

In league play, Scott averaged 18 points, 3.5 rebounds, three steals and 2.4 assists per game, helping the Hawks go 8-0 in the DSL and claim the league title.

Scott’s coach, Pat Brannon, was named the DSL’s coach of the year.

Second-place Barstow had three players on the All-DSL first team: Earl Jefferson, Alvin Jefferson and Jamaar Embry.

Granite Hills had two first-teamers — Kevin Flagg and Yoni Aynalem — while Burroughs’ Niko Hess and Victor Valley’s Zeke DeBlaise rounded out the first team.

Honorable mention went to Barstow’s Jacob Muir, Burroughs’ Binh Trinh, Bryce Quigley of Granite Hills, Darius McGee and Sammy Hicks of Silverado and Victor Valley’s Daryl Buchanan.
