Area Roundup 1-26-13: Dead Rabbits win finale
APPLE VALLEY • Paul Galaviz scored three tries to lead the Dead Rabbits to a 27-12 win over Tesoro on Saturday in their final regular season match.
Marques Trice and Kalama Kane each had a try, and Andrew Lohmeyer kicked a conversion.
The Dead Rabbits overcame being down two players at the same time after they received yellow cards.
Coach Steve Lohmeyer said sophomore Samson Vaotuua played in his first varsity match and “tore it up.” Cuong Vu and Trice earned co-man of the match honors for their efforts.
The Dead Rabbits, who finished the regular season 4-2, will wait to see if they’ll receive an at-large bid to compete in the postseason.

AAE’s (4-2 AL) Issac Pieper scored a game-high 19 points and Tim Thymes added 18.
