Track and Field Roundup: 4-19-09

ROSALES SETS RECORDS: At Murrieta, junior distance runner Daniel Rosales set a meet and school record in the invitational 3200-meter race and established a new school record in the 1,600 at the Inland Empire Championship on Saturday.

Rosales won the invitational 3,200 in 9 minutes, 22.14 seconds and placed second in the 1,600 in 4:20.59.

Bradley Noss took fifth in the invitational 400 meters (49.83); Ricardo Calderon finished fifth in the invitational discus with a throw of 143 feet, six inches; Leon Osby (52-61⁄2) took second in the shot put; the boys 4x400 relay team (3:31.74) — consisting of Noss, Daryon Mosley, Danny Velasquez and Chris Reeves — won the varsity race; Sam Nunes (10:19.29) finished second in the varsity boys 3200; Erin Cole (19.10) finished second in the girls varsity 100 hurdles; and Aleshia Kelly (1:01.40) was first in the varsity 400.
