Williams takes fifth in hurdles

FRESNO • Ahrmaan Williams had a rocky start but a stellar finish at the Run for the Dream Indoor Track and Field Invitational in Fresno at the Save Mart Center on Monday.

After struggling in the preliminaries, the Oak Hills junior took fifth in the 55-meter high hurdles with a time of 7.83 seconds.

Richard Williams, Ahrmaan’s dad, said Ahrmaan had troubles registering for the event before prelims started. He got cleared just in time, but had to run to the starting line. He tripped on the third hurdle but still ran a good enough time to advance.

Williams plans to compete in the Azusa Pacific All Comers meet this weekend.
