G.H. players stand out at combine

Granite Hills football players Victor Iosefa and Bryce Quigley had an impressive weekend at the National Underclassmen Football Combine in San Diego.

Iosefa was named the combine’s overall MVP, while Quigley was named the offensive MVP, Granite Hills Coach Justin Price said.

Iosefa, a freshman linebacker/running back, will only be 14 when he begins his sophomore season with the Cougars this fall. Price said Iosefa’s size and athleticism are uncommon for his age.

Quigley, a junior tight end and defensive end, also turned some heads.

“A lot of it was based on 1-1 and receiving drills,” Price said. “He didn’t drop a ball all day.”

Price said both players will be invited to the Rivals.com camp and combine later in the year.

Price said official results of the combine were not available yet but should be released later this week. Visit nationalunderclassmen.com for more information.
