Prep Girls Basketball: Hawks win third straight DSL title

RIDGECREST • The Silverado girls basketball team continued its dominance of the Desert Sky League by clinching its third straight league title with a 65-34 win over Burroughs on Friday night.

The Hawks (10-0 DSL) were a perfect 12-0 in league play each of the last two seasons.

Silverado’s Ebony Black-Smith led all scorers with 27 points and added six rebounds, six steals and five assists. Jazmyn Williams tallied 21 points, four rebounds, three assists, two steals; Tennia Hill came off the bench with nine rebounds, six points and a steal; and Anita Romero added eight rebounds, four steals, three assists and two blocks.

The Hawks host Barstow on Wednesday then finish the regular season at Victor Valley on Thursday.
