Civil War returns to Calico
Annual re-enactment this weekend
YERMO • The Union troops will battle the Confederates in the hills of the Calico Mountains in a Civil War re-enactment during President's Day weekend.
From Saturday to Monday, Calico Ghost Town will host hundreds of re-enactors for daily battles, period costumes, encampments and live music. Attendees can also expect cannon demonstrations, stories told by “Abraham Lincoln” and a military parade.
Calico Ghost Town is about 10 miles north of Barstow in Yermo at 36600 Ghost Town Road and is run by the San Bernardino County Regional Parks system. The park is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Admission for the event is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 15, and free for children under 5 years old. Visit www.calicotown.com for further details.
