Man wanted for attempted kidnapping
VICTORVILLE • Authorities are looking for a man who’s accused of trying to kidnap two women by pulling them into his Jaguar as he drove along a Victorville street.
The first incident took place in late October, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials said Friday. The man reportedly approached a woman who was walking near Seventh Street and Lorene Drive, driving alongside her as he spoke to her. He then sped away when another man approached them.
Then on Nov. 6, another woman was walking in the same area when a man with the same description and similar unique vehicle approached her. The man reportedly tried to engage her in conversation. When she didn’t respond, she told authorities he stopped driving, got out and grabbed her arm, and tried to pull her inside his car, sheriff’s officials said. However, the woman was able to break free and run to safety.
The man is described as black, about 30 years old and standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall with a heavy build. He had black and gold dreadlocks, a mustache and a small beard running along the sides of his face and chin. He also had a scratch or scar near his right eye.
The man’s car is described as an older-model metallic blue Jaguar with tinted windows and shiny chrome rims.
Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Detective K. White with the Victorville sheriff’s station at (760) 241-2911 or Sheriff’s Dispatch at (760) 245-4211. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can also call WeTip at (800) 78-CRIME.
