Suspicious fire in abandoned Old Town triplex
No injuries in early-morning blaze
VICTORVILLE • Firefighters extinguished a suspicious blaze in an abandoned structure in Old Town Victorville early Thursday morning.
Heavy smoke was pouring out of a residential triplex on the 16000 block of Tracy Street in Victorville when San Bernardino County firefighters responded to the scene at approximately 5:45 a.m., according to a San Bernardino County Fire Department press release.
Firefighters from Station 311 in Victorville made an aggressive interior attack, forcing entry into the structure where they found heavy smoke on the interior of the residence.
Within 35 minutes, the firefighters had the fire under control. No occupants were discovered inside the building, which was found to be abandoned. No estimates of the damage were available, according to the release.
The fire was suspicious in nature and is under investigation by the San Bernardino County Fire Department Office of the Fire Marshall, according to the release.
