HESPERIA • Burglars have stolen more than $20,000 in tools and equipment from a Smoke Tree construction site.

Burglars cut a fence and entered a construction site on the 17100 block of Smoke Tree Street, then cut the power to the site. The theft happened sometime over the weekend between 3 p.m. March 12, and 5 a.m. March 15.

The burglars then broke into several storage containers and a construction office, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. An electrical wiring threader, various saws and drills, generators, plumbing equipment and other tools were stolen from the site. The losses are estimated at between $20,000 and $30,000.
