Auto theft task force hits chop shop
$50,000 in stolen property seized; Victorville man arrested
VICTORVILLE • Investigators found $50,000 worth of stolen property and busted a Victorville man who had been running a chop shop for at least five years, officials said.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials arrested the male suspect around 10 a.m. Wednesday at his residence in 16000 block of Tracy Street in Victorville for running a chop shop and possessing stolen property. They didn’t release the suspect’s name, saying the investigation is still going on.
“They’ve been doing this for at least the last five years,” said Detective Carlos Flores of the San Bernardino County Auto Theft Task Force. “They know what they’re doing. This is not just a fly-by-night thing.”
