Six arrested in burglary string targeting veteran
Suspects were on state aid
VICTORVILLE • Six Victorville residents have been arrested following a series of burglaries at the home of a decorated World War II veteran.
According to San Bernardino County Sheriff's spokesperson Jodi Miller, the veteran has been the target of multiple burglaries. Electronics were stolen from the veteran’s home, recovered and returned to the veteran, and then stolen again in a subsequent burglary.
Deputies believe the same crooks were responsible for the repeated burglaries, according to Miller.
At 7 a.m. Thursday, Victorville Sheriff’s station deputies served a search warrant at a residence in the 11800 block of Winewood Drive in Victorville, according to a press release.
Deputies arrested Victorville residents Theresa Bingham, 42, Keith Fields, 22, Janeva Murray, 21, Artist Brown, 19, Aaron Bingham, 18, and a 17-year-old juvenile on charges of possession of stolen property and criminal conspiracy, according to the release.
At the residence, detectives located several electronic items that were stolen during residential burglaries. Two of the recovered televisions were stolen from an elderly couple.
Detectives also discovered that the occupants of the Winewood Drive residence were in violation of the conditions of the Housing Choice Voucher Program in which they receive financial aid for housing.
The adult suspects were booked in the Victor Valley Jail overnight, and the juvenile was booked at the Apple Valley Juvenile Detention Center.
