Macy's names Victorville store manager

RIVERSIDE • Macy's appointed Fernando Sanchez as the vice president and store manager for the new Victorville store scheduled to open in March, the company announced Wednesday.
The national retailer will hold the grand opening of the Mall of the Victor Valley store on March 20. Macy’s will also host a preview charity shopping day on March 16.
“I am excited to begin my role as store manager of Macy’s Victor Valley and look forward to welcoming customers who have been anxiously awaiting the store’s opening and providing an outstanding shopping experience,” Sanchez said in a statement. “Macy’s is all about localization and we are hard at work making sure our Victor Valley store has the right mix of assortments to meets the needs of the community.”
Sanchez, who has 12 years of retail experience, will manage the single-level 103,000-square-foot store and about 150 associates.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, Sanchez began his career with Macy’s in 2001 as a part-time associate in Santa Anita. From 2003 to 2009, he held various positions at Macy’s Valley Fair store in Santa Clara. In 2009, Sanchez was promoted to merchandise team manager at Macy’s Temecula and in 2011, he was promoted to assistant store manager at Macy’s Palm Desert.
Sanchez attended San Jose State University where he received a B.S. degree in Business Administration.
