Three juveniles arrested after crashing stolen car

Multiple law enforcement agencies respond when suspects flee

BARSTOW • Three juveniles were arrested and one suspect remains on the loose after they crashed a stolen car into a fence on Virginia Way on Thursday morning, according to a Barstow Police news release.

Barstow Police and San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies apprehended the suspects who fled after the crash in the 600 block of E. Virginia Way, with the fourth suspect at large, the release said.

At approximately 1 a.m., the four suspects were riding in a 2012 silver Honda Civic that failed to yield to California Highway Patrol officers near Dolph Court and Seventh Avenue in Barstow, police said. Authorities determined the vehicle had been stolen Wednesday from the Victorville area.

After the suspects fled the crash, officers located the first suspect as he was knocking on an apartment window, trying to gain entry. CHP officers identified him as the driver of the stolen vehicle, police said.

The suspect had a no-bail San Bernardino County warrant.

The second suspect was located by a police officer in the area and was detained at Mountain View and Seventh Street, police said. CHP officers identified the suspect as having fled from the stolen vehicle.

Sheriff's deputies located and detained the third suspect in the Food4Less parking lot on Virginia Way, and CHP officers identified him as also having fled from the vehicle.

CHP took custody of all three suspects and the stolen vehicle, police said.

During the residential car theft in Victorville, a motorcycle and other personal property also were determined to be stolen, according to police.
