HAWKS STAY UNBEATEN: At Ridgecrest, Silverado’s boys and girls improved to 3-0 in the Desert Sky League.

The Silverado boys had to win the 4x400 meter relay to clinch the meet. The Hawks were led by junior Ayele Forde who won three individual events and one relay. Sophomore Jonathan Cerulli reached a personal best in the pole vault.

Shawna Fermin won three individual events and a relay, and Ashlie Curenton took two individual events and a relay to lead the Silverado girls.

The Hawks look to finish out a perfect DSL campaign on Thursday against Granite Hills.

AZTECS, SULTANS SPLIT: At Barstow, Sultana’s girls beat Barstow, but the boys lost to the Aztecs.

Chelsey Jones led the way for the girls (4-0). Jones took first in the long jump (14 feet, 21⁄2 inches) and the high jump (4-8). Barstow’s Nisha Barrett won the 100 and 200 meters and the 100 hurdles.

On the boys side, Barstow’s Andrew Romano won the 3,200, 1,600 and 800.

The Sultans host Apple Valley on Wednesday.
