Man wanted in Old Town stabbing arrested in Bell

VICTORVILLE • Authorities arrested a man in the city of Bell on Wednesday night for the stabbing of a construction worker Tuesday in Old Town Victorville, San Bernardino County Sheriff's booking records show.

Gerald Bernard Baros, 19, of Victorville was arrested in the 6600 block of Loma Vista in Bell for the attempted murder of the worker.

According to witnesses to Tuesday’s attack, Baros allegedly walked out of a home near a construction site on the corner of B and Sixth streets and approached a group of men removing debris from the work site. Baros then reportedly attacked one of the workers. It’s unclear why the victim was targeted or why the stabbing took place.

The victim was stabbed several times in the torso before Baros fled the scene. Rescuers transported the victim to a trauma center where he is recovering.

A search of San Bernardino County court records shows Baros has no criminal record here.

Baros was booked into West Valley Detention Center for attempted murder.
