Vehicle description released in September hit-and-run
VICTORVILLE • Deputies have uncovered new information concerning a fatal hit-and-run accident in September.
Based on an examination of physical evidence left at the scene, the suspect vehicle is believed to be a 1997 to 1999 Subaru Legacy of an unknown color. The vehicle sustained damage to the passenger side, including the front passenger side turn signal lens and passenger side view mirror, according to a San Bernardino County Sheriff's press release.
A vehicle of this description is believed to have struck and killed a pedestrian between midnight and 2:44 a.m. on Sept. 15.
The victim, identified as Dion Levar, 49, was walking along Mojave Drive north of West Trail in Victorville when she was hit by a vehicle that did not stop, according to previous reports.
Levar was seen on the side of the road by an ambulance driver who passed by. The driver of the ambulance stopped to offer assistance but to no avail. The victim was pronounced dead on scene at 2:44 a.m., according to previous reports.
