Man arrested after being barricaded in AV home

APPLE VALLEY • Authorities arrested an adult male after he barricaded himself inside a residence on Algonquin Road on Sunday morning, officials said.

San Bernardino County Sheriff ’s deputies converged at the residence on the northeast corner of Algonquin and Pah-Ute roads at about 2 a.m. Sunday, according to eyewitnesses near the location.

Sheriff’s Department SWAT personnel arrived at the location at about 3:45 a.m., according to Sheriff ’s spokesperson Jodi Miller.

Authorities vacated nearby residents and cordoned off the immediate area, eyewitnesses reported.

At 9:15 a.m., the man surrendered himself to SWAT personnel without incident and was taken into custody, Miller said.
