Wrightwood man dies at Glen Helen Raceway

SAN BERNARDINO • A 45-year-old Wrightwood man died of an unknown cause while racing at the Glen Helen Raceway, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner's website.

Around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, paramedics at the raceway responded to a motorcyclist down during one of the sanctioned races. No collision was reported, according to the coroner’s website.

When they arrived, William Carl Donnan was still straddling his motorcycle but he was unresponsive. He was airlifted to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 12:12 p.m.

An autopsy will be conducted later this week to determine the cause of death, the coroner stated on the website.

Glen Helen Raceway officials didn’t return phone calls or respond to a Facebook message.
