Suspect arrest in Victorville man's murder

SAN BERNARDINO • A Highland man has been arrested on murder charges in connection with the death of a Victorville man at a New Year’s Eve party in San Bernardino, officials said Friday.

At 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, Steve Alfred Villalobos, 20, was arrested at his mother’s residence in the 27000 block of Rustic Lane in Highland, according to booking records. Villalobos was charged with murder and promoting criminal street gang activity.

On Monday night, Villalobos and Victorville resident Kenneth Anderson, 39, were at a New Year’s Eve party at a residence in San Bernardino when a fight broke out, according to San Bernardino Police Department press release.

During the fight, Anderson was shot multiple times and died at the scene. Three other victims were struck by the gunfire and were transported to local area hospitals for treatment, according to previous reports.

The suspect initially fled the scene, but ongoing investigations led to the identification of Villalobos as a suspect in Anderson’s death, according to the release.

Villalobos was booked at Central Detention Center without bail and is scheduled to appear in count on Monday.

Im sure glad there's one less alleged gang member off our streets. What a shame, 20 years old and living at moms still.
