DUI checkpoints planned Saturday, Wednesday

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Victorville and Hesperia stations will be conducting driving under the influence and license checkpoints over the next week, authorities said.

Victorville officials will be checking for impaired drivers on Saturday and Hesperia’s checkpoint will take place on Wednesday, St. Patrick’s Day evening.

Victorville’s checkpoint will begin at 7 p.m. and will continue until early Sunday morning in an effort to take dangerous drivers off the roadways.

Hesperia’s operation will take place on St. Patrick’s Day.

Authorities advise anyone who plans on going out drinking to have a designated sober driver. They also ask anyone who believes they see an impaired driver to call 911.
