VVWRA hosts open house on massive realignment project
VICTORVILLE • The Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority is holding its second open house regarding its Upper Narrows Sewer Realignment project from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at 16857 "C" Street.
The project will reroute a portion of VVWRA’s main interceptor from the Mojave River through a portion of Old Town Victorville to protect the public health and the Mojave River, and to avoid infrastructure damage caused by weather-related emergencies. The project was sparked in the wake of 2010 Christmas week storms that overwhelmed the High Desert and caused damage to this portion of the system, resulting in a large sewage spill into the river bottom.
Residents and business owners in or around the Old Town Victorville area are encouraged to stop by anytime during the three-hour meeting Thursday. VVWRA staff will be on hand to discuss the project and answer any questions, and light refreshments will be served.
