Man arrested for transportation, sale of narcotics

PINON HILLS • A Corona resident was arrested in Phelan after escaping from custody while in handcuffs in Pinon Hills.

Colin Sawyer, 20, was contacted by deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Victor Valley station on Nov. 14 at a home in the 9800 block of Ash Road in Pinon Hills, according to a county press release.

While at the residence, sheriff’s officials said a male subject gave the deputies a false name and attempted to conceal over seven grams of heroin.

Deputies found a scale, packaging supplies and a large amount of money in the suspect’s wallet, according to the release. They then positively identified the suspect as Sawyer.

Deputies placed Sawyer under arrest and handcuffed him, but Sawyer escaped and fled from the deputies on foot.

On Thursday, Sawyer was found at a home in the 11500 block of Middleton in Phelan along with additional money and damaged handcuffs.

Sawyer is being held at the Victor Valley Jail without bail.

Ten years ago, Portugal decriminalized ALL drugs. One decade after this unprecedented experiment, drug abuse is down by half. Note that the major financial contributors to, and lobbyists for, the promotion of prohibition, are police unions, prison guard unions, probation officers, big pharma and big alcohol. Got it? Google up Law Enforcement Against Prohibition for the honest facts before allowing yourself to be hood winked by an evil and predatory agenda.

Others will step up to the plate and fill the void as long as this bogus war, which is conducted for the promotion of the prison industrial complex and Big Alcohol, continues. Google Law Enforcement Against Prohibition for honesty and sanity regarding this issue.
