Woman killed in Phelan

PHELAN • A woman was shot and killed during an argument with her live-in boyfriend on Saturday morning, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials.

Deputies received a call at 9:25 a.m. regarding a shooting in the 8900 block of Smith Road in Phelan on Saturday. Angelina April Goffredo, 21, was found inside the residence by medical personnel suffering from a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:39 a.m.

William Edward Lewis, 23, who was living with Goffredo, called 911 and reported the shooting as an accident. During an argument, Lewis pulled out a handgun and shot Goffredo, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff officials.

Lewis was arrested for murder and booked at the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino.
