Sheriff's patrol car hits, kills man

SAN BERNARDINO (AP) • Authorities say a Sheriff's Department patrol car has struck and killed a pedestrian in San Bernardino.

Authorities say the patrol car hit a 54-year-old man who was crossing Cedar Avenue in Bloomington on Sunday night.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name hasn’t been released.

TV news reports showed the car with a smashed windshield and severe damage to its front end.
