Dental worker arrested after hitting on teen patient
Authorities believe there could be more victims
VICTORVILLE • An office worker at a children's dental office is in jail after he allegedly made inappropriate comments to a 14-year-old girl and then asked for her phone number, telling the teen not to tell her parents.
Nestor Ramirez, 29, was arrested shortly after noon Friday for annoying or molesting a child. He was booked at Victor Valley Jail, where he was cited and released just after 10 p.m.
A 14-year-old girl was being treated at the dentist’s office in the 12000 block of Hesperia Road on Friday, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials said. She told authorities that Ramirez struck up a conversation with her while they were in a room alone and asked her for personal information, including her age. The girl said Ramirez then made inappropriate comments, gave her his phone number and told her not to tell her parents, according to sheriff’s officials.
The teenager told a relative, who reported the incident to dental office personnel. Staff then contacted the sheriff’s department, and deputies came to the dental office and arrested Ramirez.
Ramirez, who was last listed as living in Los Angeles, has no criminal record in San Bernardino County, according to a search of court records.
Anyone who has had contact involving similar circumstances with Ramirez or who has additional information is urged to contact Detective R. Gardner at the sheriff’s Victorville station, at (760) 241-2911 or call WeTip at (800) 78-CRIME.
