Fire destroys mobile home
Third fire in residence in two years
VICTORVILLE • Firefighters extinguished the third fire in two years in an abandoned mobile home in Victorville, officials said Wednesday.
At noon on Tuesday, firefighters from the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a residential fire in the 14000 block of Rodeo Drive in Victorville, according to a Fire Department press release.
Firefighters discovered the fire had already consumed the rear portion of an abandoned double-wide mobile home and was threatening homes beside and behind the residence. Eighteen firefighters worked for 15 minutes to contain the blaze.
While the fire did not spread beyond the residence, the mobile home was destroyed, and damage is estimated at $67,000, according to the release.
A section of Rodeo Drive between Pebble Beach Drive and Green Tree Boulevard was closed for two hours because of the fire.
Firefighters had visited this residence twice before over the past two years to put out smaller fires inside the residence, according to the release. The cause of the fire has not been released and is under investigation by the San Bernardino County Fire Arson Department.
