Help for first-time home buyers
VICTORVILLE • The city is helping prequalify first-time home buyers during a workshop Wednesday.
Lenders and Realtors will be available to get attendees prequalified and provide information on available homes. Home buyer educators will also be at the event.
To qualify for a home loan, a purchaser must be a first-time home buyer with no bankruptcy or foreclosure in the last three years. A first-time home buyer is defined as someone who hasn’t had an ownership interest in a home within the last three years. The home also must be the primary residence for the potential buyer and be within Victorville city limits to qualify.
Attendees should bring:
• A driver’s license or identification card;
• A social security number;
• Their last three paystubs;
• Their last three months of bank statements; and
• The last three years of tax returns.
• A credit report is also suggested, but not required.
Interested home buyers can come to the workshop anytime between 2 and 7 p.m. Wednesday in conference room “D” at City Hall, 14343 Civic Drive.
