McKinney back on the HUSD agenda
HESPERIA • The Hesperia Unified School District board will meet Tuesday for the second time in less than a week to review the employment of Superintendent Mark McKinney.
The district posted a notice about the meeting on its website early Monday afternoon. The agenda, which consists of only one item, states that the meeting will discuss “public employee discipline/dismissal/release/reassignment/transfer.”
“All I can say is that the board is going to discuss Mark’s contract,” said HUSD Board President Ella “Lee” Rogers. “That’s all I can say.”
The latest discussion comes just six days after the board held a similar meeting regarding the same issue. That meeting was met with a large number of people who came to support the superintendent. After nearly four hours in closed session, the board decided to keep McKinney in his post.
Because of personnel privacy laws, the board is prohibited from speaking publicly about the reasons regarding the personnel meeting.
Tuesday’s meeting will be at the Hesperia Administration and Educational Support Center Annex, 15576 Main St. in Hesperia.
