Final gang suspect identified in home murder attempt

Two suspects remain at large

HESPERIA • The fifth and final suspect involved in a home burglary and attempted murder has now been identified, sheriff’s officials say.

Justin Alder, 24, of Apple Valley, was one member of a five-man group who broke into a residence in the 19000 block of Lindsay Street on Tuesday night and brutally stabbed and beat a male and female homeowner, according to Susan Rose, spokesperson for San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Hesperia station.

Alder absconded from post-community supervision under Assembly Bill 109 for violating terms of probation for weapons violations. He is described as a white male adult standing at 6 feet, 1 inch and weighing 175 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes.

Alder currently remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous, Rose said.

Tommy Rhea, 22, remains a parolee at large and is also considered armed and dangerous. He is described as a white male standing at 5 feet, 10 inches and weighing 220 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

The remaining suspects — Andrew Schroeder, Douglas Kim and Nicholas Griffin — are currently in custody. All five suspects, who are documented members of the white supremacist High Desert Peckerwood gang, face charges of burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, participating in a criminal street gang and attempted murder.

Anyone with information regarding this ongoing investigation should contact Detective Paul Bader of the Hesperia sheriff’s station at (760) 947-1500. Callers wishing to remain anonymous can call the WeTip hotline at (800) 78-CRIME or visit
