Six arrested in Hesperia DUI patrol
HESPERIA • Hesperia deputies arrested six suspects, issued eight citations, and towed two vehicles during a saturation patrol in Hesperia, officials said Monday.
From 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday evening, two units from the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station conducted a DUI Special Enforcement Saturation with funding from the California Office of Traffic, according to a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department press release.
During the evening, Hesperia deputies made contact with 25 drivers, arresting four suspects for driving under the influence of alcohol, and two suspects for driving without a license or with a suspended license, according to the release.
Deputies also issued eight citations for vehicle code violations and had two vehicles towed during the saturation patrol.
Saturation patrols like the one in Hesperia are conducted periodically across the county to arrest drunk drivers and reduce alcohol-involved collisions.
These patrols are one part of San Bernardino County’s “Avoid the 25” DUI enforcement campaign, named after 25 law enforcement agencies across the county that are working to reduce driving under the influence.
