ADELANTO • A 13-year-old girl is being held for attempted murder after she was arrested for stabbing a 13-year-old boy. The girl was also under the influence of marijuana at the time of her arrest, according to sheriff's officials.

Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Victor Valley station responded to a 911 call from a home in the 11200 block of Auburn Avenue in Adelanto at 6:30 p.m. Monday, according to a news release. When they arrived, deputies found a teen boy with stab wounds to his lower abdomen, back and chest. One stab wound was close to the heart, sheriff’s officials said.

The victim was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center in critical condition. After undergoing surgery, the victim was last listed in stable condition, according to the release.

Witnesses saw the victim in a verbal fight with a female juvenile before the stabbing, according to officials. Deputies identified a 13-year-old female, who was staying with her aunt in the area as a suspect and arrested her for attempted murder.
