VVUHSD calls emergency meeting Friday
VICTORVILLE • The Victor Valley Union High School District Board of Trustees has called an emergency board meeting slated for 5:30 p.m. Friday.
The last-minute meeting is in response to the district’s “Declaration of Fiscal Emergency,” as it is considering the approval of a cost-saving resolution to prevent insolvency.
If the board approves the resolution, the work year for all certificated bargaining unit employees will be reduced by six days for the 2013-14 school year and by eight days in each of the 2013-14 and 2015-16 school years.
The resolution, if approved, also states that all paid leaves — including vacation, sick and other personal leaves — for all district employees will be limited to the minimum requirements set forth by the California Education Code, irrespective of conflicting provisions in any other contracts or policies currently in effect.
