Las Vegas man dies in desert collision

DUMONT DUNES • A Las Vegas resident was killed following a collision between a quad motorcycle and a sand rail in the Competition Hill area of Dumont Dunes.

Around 10:50 a.m. on Saturday, Baker Ambulance responded to the scene and found Craig Sauve, 40, unresponsive, according to information from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Coroner.

Sauve was transported to Dumont Dunes Command Station where he went into cardiorespiratory arrest while awaiting helicopter transportation to a medical facility.

Sauve did not respond to advanced cardiac life support and was pronounced dead at 11:38 a.m.

The incident is under investigation from the California Highway Patrol.
