Costumes for a cause

A group of kindergartners at Henderson Elementary School donned their Halloween costumes and “fed the pumpkin” Friday. Kids came to school, disguises ranging from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to witches and mummies, with canned and dry goods to donate to a local charity. This year the kids’ canned goods went to benefit the Haley House, said school principal, Jan Rhoads. Each child who fed the pumpkin a can of food received a ticket to be used at the school’s harvest festival, which took place Friday evening.
