911 call nabs suspects

Four arrested in Hesperia residential burglary

HESPERIA • Three Hesperia men were arrested after they tried to break into a home while a female resident was inside, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff's officials.

At about 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Sheriff's Dispatch received a 911 call from a woman stating that her home was being burglarized. She told dispatchers she was home alone and suspects were forcing their way into the residence, according to a news release.

“The (victim) indicated that she heard a knock on the door and didn’t respond,” sheriff’s Sgt. Doug Hubbard said. “Then a few seconds later, she heard something at the back door.”

“She stayed very calm and did a wonderful job of providing their descriptions and what activities they were doing,” he added.

When deputies arrived at the residence, in the 14000 block of Buckbrush Court, they detained a suspect in the front yard while two others fled over a back fence, the release said.

Deputies pursued the men on foot through backyards and streets. With the help of a California Highway Patrol aircraft, they arrested the two men in the neighborhood.

The following suspects were arrested near the Buckbrush residence:

• Ezekiel Michael Trejo, 33, of Hesperia;

• Excel Parker, 21, of Hesperia;

• Frank Lee Moates, 38, of Hesperia.

Trejo suffered minor injuries as he resisted arrest, sheriff’s officials said. The deputy who had been chasing Trejo also received a laceration to his hand during the struggle. Both were later treated at a local hospital and released.

Further investigation revealed that the men were attempting to force open a rear door to the victim’s residence when deputies arrived, according to the release.

The investigation led authorities to execute search warrants on two residences in the 9300 block of Nolina Drive. The Hesperia station’s gang team arrested another suspect, Chance Leon Parker, 22, of Hesperia, who investigators believe had been involved in an unrelated burglary in the area.

Investigators also seized items that are believed to have been taken in unrelated burglaries. They are continuing the investigation to identify additional victims related to the four suspects, according to the release.

Trejo, Excel Parker and Moates were booked at the Victor Valley Jail for robbery, while Chance Parker was booked for burglary and violation of parole, according to the Sheriff ’s website. They are scheduled to appear Thursday in Victorville court.

Hesperia Code Enforcement officers responded to one of the Nolina residences due to code violations. They determined the residence was unsafe and un-inhabitable. The occupants were removed from the location pending repairs.

Hubbard is asking citizens to contact law enforcement when they witness suspicious activity, and to try to obtain physical, clothing and vehicle descriptions that will assist deputies searching the area.

“In this case, one of the suspects knocked on the front door to determine if anyone was at the residence,” Hubbard said. “We don’t recommend confrontation with individuals like that. If they suspect something suspicious, contact law enforcement.”
