Fugitive in Mollie's Pub shooting booked in Barstow

Man at large since September

BARSTOW • A Barstow man wanted for attempted murder in the Mollie’s Pub shooting was booked at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Jail in Barstow, according to a police press release.

Jonathan Vigil, 33, was picked up by Barstow Police detectives after he waived extradition Thursday in Las Vegas, where he was being held by Las Vegas authorities.

Las Vegas Police located Vigil at a residence on Nov. 17, arrested him and took him into custody on the warrant from Barstow Court charging him with two counts of attempted murder and street terrorism, police said.

Vigil was one of four suspects implicated in the September shooting at Mollie’s Pub that left two men injured.

The others, Samuel Weitz, Jesus Perez and Vigil’s wife, Eileen, were arrested Sept. 24, Oct. 5 and Nov. 13, respectively.

Eileen Vigil, charged with accessory to attempted murder, pled guilty to the lesser charge of concealing a criminal last Tuesday. For that, she was sentenced to 90 days in jail — 15 days credited for time served — and three years of supervised probation. She is also ordered to report to the Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center in January.

Weitz and Perez’s next court dates are scheduled to occur this month.

Jonathan Vigil was set to appear in court last Friday.

Anyone with information concerning the attempted murder at Mollie’s Pub and the location of the handgun used in the shootings is asked to call the Barstow Police Department at (760) 256-2211 or Detective Leo Griego at (760) 255-5187. Those wishing to remain anonymous may call (800) 78-CRIME.
