Man arrested after allegedly attempting to knife girlfriend

STAFF WRITER

A man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly attempted to knife his girlfriend.

Kevin Huerta, 22, was arrested shortly after 6:30 p.m. on June 30 when San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department deputies were called to a residence on the 17400 block of Sequoia Avenue.

There, Huerta was accused by his girlfriend of threatening to kill her if she tried to leave during an argument with him. She and her sister did attempt to leave, she said, and when she got into her vehicle, Huerta allegedly leapt on the hood, holding a kitchen knife. He then reportedly fell off the vehicle and attempted to stab her, but instead hit the driver's-side door, denting it.

Huerta was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and booked at Victor Valley Jail.
