Man reportedly darted in front of traffic

After speaking to eyewitnesses, family members also dispute reports from the sheriff’s department that Hixson was in the middle of the street when he was struck. According to them, Hixson was walking back home from making a trip to 7-Eleven and had just stepped off the curb when he was hit.
