Woman airlifted after wreck on Rimrock Road

BARSTOW • A woman had to be airlifted for treatment after she was involved in a traffic collision on Rimrock Road Friday.

A truck and a car collided at the intersection of Rimrock Road and Muriel Drive just before 12:00 p.m., according to Barstow Police Department Sgt. Chris Kirby. Officer Scott Johnston said that the woman, whose identity has not be released, was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton. Barstow Fire Department Cpt. Mark Barnes said that the woman suffered moderate injuries.

Each vehicle only had one occupant, according to Johnston. The unidentified driver of the truck was uninjured. The vehicles both sustained heavy damage to their front ends. Kirby said the cause of the wreck is still under investigation.
